Opportunity: Fluency ‘Get Digital’ course

Fluency

In partnership with St Giles Trust and us at Each One Teach One, digital marketing experts Fluency will be running ‘Get Digital’ a part-time, six-week course over April and May for young people between the ages of 18 and 25. During the course you will learn and gain work experience in digital skills that digital agencies, small businesses and start-ups are looking for such as web design, managing online communities and making amazing content for blogs and websites.

Why is Getting Digital important in today’s job market?

  • Digital skills are job skills. There is currently a talent gap in the digital industry and they are looking for young people with your skill-set!

  • 27% of all growth in London comes from the tech/digital sector so this is a huge growth area with lots of opportunities.

  • Most jobs today require a level of digital fluency – even in non-digital roles – and these skills are useful whether you are starting your own business or working in a company.

How does Get Digital work?

Firstly, you will have weekly meetups at digital and creative agencies based in East London which will give you access to brilliant professionals who will be able to give you their expert knowledge and career advice.

In between sessions, you will learn digital marketing at your own pace in a fun and interactive way on Fluency’s online learning platform – getting lots of help from tutors and your peers along the way.

Get Digital is a new programme from Fluency so they will be looking for young people to help to co-create the programme and be involved in its shape.

By the end of the project, you will have:

  • Learned specialist, sought-after digital marketing skills.

  • Gained real world experience of working on client projects.

  • Explored possible options and pathways towards your future career.

  • Developed key soft employability skills.

  • Left with an updated CV and professional social networking profiles.

  • Numerous opportunities to network with professionals from the digital industry.

  • The opportunity to co-create and design a ground-breaking training programme for other young people.

If you are a young person living in London and are not in education, employment, or training – or you are from a marginalised or less privileged background and this course sounds like the project for you, then please visit: https://fluencylearners.typeform.com/to/ja5PYV  and fill in the provided application form. Once you have filled it in Fluency will then follow up your application with a telephone interview.

The deadline for all applications is Wednesday 19th March at 23:59
