On Tuesday 30th April we held a launch event for EOTO at Chats Palace in Homerton. The idea behind the event was for us to showcase to people the work we have been doing so far and to outline our plans for the future. The night featured a range of speeches and presentations from funded projects, invited guests and of course Ben Drew himself.
Ben’s impassioned speech outlined his vision for the charity, where the idea came from, his own experiences as a young man, the impact this kind of work can have on others and for the first time publicly, truly expressed his ambitions for the future of EOTO and how the charity will develop in the years to come.
The invited audience were an eclectic mix of; dynamic youth workers, social entrepreneurs, musicians, journalists, professionals from the media, fashion and financial industries as well as the growing collective that is EOTO; staff, volunteers, funded projects, young people, friends and family.
A brilliant night was had by all. Ray Cheng took some fantastic photos, a selection of which can be found above.
Thank you to everyone who helped make the event such a great success. A big thank you to Dave Shepherd from BCS Audio & Ian Woodhall from XL Video for creating such a smooth production and to all the staff at Chats Palace for the use of such a brilliant venue. A special thank you also to Nandos and Carling for the hospitality.
The entire event was captured on video by the brilliant JJ Stereo and we are working with them to create a dynamic short film so watch out for that soon.
